About me.

In 2008, my career in the United States Marine Corps came to an abrupt end after I broke my neck swimming in the ocean.

Over the course of the next several years I had to adjust to living with quadriplegia and life in a wheelchair. I was introduced to wheelchair rugby in early 2009. In 2017, I was selected to the USAWR National Team and competed at the international level in Japan.

The sport introduced me to an entire network of disabled athletes from around the globe, which has served as an invaluable resource when it comes to matters of paralysis and reclaiming independence.

I began the “My Crippled Friend” podcast in 2019 to serve as a place to introduce the world to the people with disabilities I’ve met along my journey who are doing incredible things to empower and positively promote the disabled community.
